"Here's
something
about
Raft
that
many of
you know
and some
don't.
I think
it bears
telling...
A few
months
ago he
got on a
folding
team for
the
Stanford
research
project.
Basically,
you let
them use
space on
your
computer
to do
some
kind of
a
repetitive
process
that
aids
them to
find
cures
for
various
diseases.
He set
up not
only his
computers,
but a
bunch of
computers
and
servers
elsewhere
and has
been, by
far, the
most
prolific
folder
on the
team.
Well,
the
really
cool
thing is
that
he's the
only one
who knew
about
all of
those
computers
and they
will
continue
to fold
until
they are
discovered. Nobody
is
harmed
and they
will
continue
to do it
in his
name on
the team
for
maybe
years to
come."
...we have changed the name of our folding team to
Raft's Rangers. If Mike was here, he
would laugh and call us all a bunch of dumb *****, but folding was important to
him, and he was important to us, so we thought it fitting that we do so.

Recently, one of your members came to our Puter Forum and
asked if he could join our team as his way of honouring Raft's memory. We think
that is a great idea and want to extend an invitation to those who might want to
help in the fight against cancer and honour the memory of a fallen brother
"Raft
will
continue
to fold
for the
effort
to stop
cancer
for many
years to
come.
Even in
passing
his
goodness
to his
fellow
man
endures."
"Mike
was
absolutely
passionate
about
it.
Anyone
who
decides
to do it
would
definitely
honor
him."

UPDATE ON
RAFT'S RANGERS
FOLDING TEAM
**
At the end of
June 2006 "Raft's
Rangers" became
aware that most
of computers
Raft (Mike) had
the Stanford
Folding Team program
on were no
longer running
the program he
was passionate
about. The total
computers he had
the Folding
program on was
about 19 at one
time and it had
dwindled to 2.
When the "Raft's
Ranger" Team
became aware of
this, the team
members started
to log their own
computers or any
extra computers
they had the
Folding program
on in Raft's
(Mike's) name -
keeping him in
the top position
and still keeping him as the
most prolific
folder on the
team, at the welcome sacrifice
of their own
scores and standings on the team.
